The focus is on observation and quick reactions, essential skills for street photography.
TELL ME MORE
Two key mantras of street photography: composition matters, and storytelling is everything. There’s much more to this art than simply pressing the shutter. Richard Oughton, a seasoned photographer who teaches digital photography at Blackpool and The Fylde College, will guide you through the process. You’re in experienced hands.
Make sure to bring a camera to the workshop—charge your battery and ensure the SD card is in place. If you have a lens, a 28mm to 50mm range is ideal. It needs to be fast, sharp, and discreet—just like Richard, whose own work captures dynamic and atmospheric moments, whether on the dancefloor or in the city.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a unique collection of images and a deeper understanding of the creative potential to be discovered on the street.
