Discover a world-class, state-of-the-art distillery. Enjoy an in-depth, behind the scenes tour, G&T and a tasting of six gins.
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
First up on arrival the perfect gin and tonic will be pressed into your hand - and then the important stuff starts. This tour covers the history of gin from its illicit beginnings to the craze that has taken over the London bar scene. See the copper still in their distillery and learn how their spirit is made before completing the visit with a gin tasting. First off you will be sipping their London Dry Gin, followed by their Premium Batch No.1 and No.2 gins. Try to pick out the botanicals before tasting another three world gins. At the end of one and a half hours, you will absolutely be the font of knowledge on all things gin.
TELL ME MORE
Back in ‘the good old days’ of 1743, gin was peddled from street carts and cut with turps and sulphuric acid to give it an edge. East London Liquor Company may have set up in a former glue factory but there the comparison ends. This is a world class state-of-the-art distillery. The copper stills ping and glasses gleam as you explore behind the scenes. This is the first east London whisky, gin and vodka distillery to open its doors for over a century.
Insider tip
If you feel like a bite afterward (and you probably will) there is an excellent restaurant on site. The vibe is Italian, think sharing plates and pizza...
