WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

The day begins with some homemade scones and tea around a firepit, which is an excellent way to say ‘hello’ to your companions as you gather for the start of the day.

After breakfast, you will be led through a beginner-friendly yoga practice, surrounded by the panoramic views of the farm. Flow through gentle poses as you connect with the environment. If you have never experienced yoga outdoors, this is your chance. It brings an added calm to the discipline, as you breathe in the fresh air and harmonise with your surroundings.

After a refreshing session, take a deep breath and listen to the sounds from the trees. Forest bathing, or Shinrin-yoku, is a lovely way to let go of the stresses from everyday life. This practice is as simple as walking through nature and connecting with what is around you. Look out for passing deer and birds of prey who can often be seen winging across the hills—this is ancient woodland. Sit on a tree stump, look up, and really let go. The effects are fantastic and will stay with you whenever you walk through a woodland area.

At the end of the day, you will all gather again around the firepit and enjoy some delicious BBQ snacks. Sheltered areas have also been set up, just in case. A bit of weatherproofing. This is a chance to chat and discuss elements from the day.

Of course, by this time, you may be so relaxed you might just want to sit and smile.

Your host is Xenia, a seasoned yoga teacher, and also a trained forest school assistant, who has explored foraging and medicinal herbs alongside her core skill. Xenia is adept at making her classes welcoming and fun for everyone, so if you are new to yoga, you won’t feel left out.

LOCATION: Bolney, East Sussex

DURATION: Sessions are 5 hours and run monthly on Sundays all year round

Please dress weatherproof and wear good shoes.

Sessions will be cancelled if there is a yellow weather warning and another date offered.
