Vermouth is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages still being drunk today and an increasing number of people are wanting to know more about it. When they think of vermouth in Spain, they usually associate it with the aperitif, particularly pre-lunch drinks on weekends. However, the possibilities for vermouth are endless and with five different expressions to choose from, Padró & Co. vermouths offer a journey of discovery. From aperitif to cocktail, vermouths can even be drunk with the different courses of a good meal, as a drink afterwork or even as a night-cap..
Padró & Co. vermouths allow you to choose a vermouth for each mood or moment. If you prefer a touch of sweetness, try Rojo Clásico, which is creamy and fresh in the mouth with its Mediterranean herbs.
The wine is left ‘for a winter’ before the secret sauce is added – their signature red vermouth herb blend.
Once the secret recipe is added to the wine, the mix is left to mature for nine to 12 months in ex-sherry barrels. These barrels are critical for the final taste of the vermouth, as they help emphasise the spiciness and fruitiness of the liquid.
Rojo Clasico is a supremely rewarding drink, when coupled with the sweeter notes of citrus and cinnamon and served chilled.
Serve with tomato juice and some lemon juice, Lee & Perrins, Tabasco and salt & pepper.
Aside from just being a great drink, the bottle is stunningly designed, even picking up the double gold medal for packaging at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2017, with judges wowed by the deep pink and extravagant gold design.
