Spend the day a local alpaca farm learning the art of alpaca husbandry

- Meeting and feeding all the alpaca residents and other animals at Beacon Farm.
- Learning how to herd, catch, halter and walk an alpaca.
- ‘Seasonal’ – you may get the opportunity to halter train last years cria (youngsters)
- Learn how to carry out husbandry tasks such as health checking, condition scoring and toe trimming.
- Select your chosen alpaca for the afternoon alpaca walk.All participants will receive an Alpaca Wrangler certificate, photo with their alpaca and an alpaca husbandry fact sheet.
- This is a personal experience which may be tailored to individual needs, participants must have a reasonable level of fitness to take part.
- Lunch time is 1200 noon till 1pm bring your own food, drinks are provided
- Available most weekends and some weekdays by arrangement
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The price is for one person and includes a full day of activities (9.30am until approximately 3.30pm)
This is an experience most suited to adults but children (11 years and older) are welcome if they are accompanied by a paying adult.
Participants must be able to walk over a mile on fields and footpaths.
