18k Vermeil Gold.
Vermeil is a type of gold-finished material, in which a thick layer of gold is crafted over solid sterling silver. 10 karats or above is the industry standard for a piece to be classed as ‘vermeil’ – generally the highest quality tend to be 14, 18 and 24 karats depending on the thickness of the jewellery.
To break it down further, the thickness of the gold portion must be a strong 2.5 microns.
