Original Illustrated Ceramic Dog Brooch, by Zoe-Est
This Boston Terrier is completely handmade; he is firstly cut and shaped and smoothed from stoneware clay, then dried until leather hard, painted with underglaze, then the illustration by me, is scratched out using the sgraffito technique, he then goes in the kiln until bisque, then he’s brushed with glaze and put back in the kiln for a final fire. He then comes out finished and really glossy. Finally a brooch bar is attached to the back.
