Made from recycled sari silk sourced in Nepal. With intricate printed patterns and luxurious smooth textures, sari silks are works of art, often passed down families through generations. Having reached the end of their useful life as garments, we have given these fabrics a new lease of life, and another chance to tell their stories. Every piece is one of a kind. Silk is the traditional material for the 12th wedding anniversary gift.
The pillow inner is made from soft woven cotton called shyama in Nepal. It is filled with dried rice and flax seed (linseed), both UK sourced, and UK grown dried lavender. Lavender has been found to have positive impacts on mood, stress and anxiety, and to aid insomnia. The pillow can be used effectively at room temperature. To ease tension headaches and migraines, the pillow inner may be heated in a microwave: max. 700W in 10sec increments up to max. 30sec (approx. temperatures: 10sec = 28C, 20sec = 36C, 30sec = 42C). To soothe tired eyes or to aid hay fever symptoms, the pillow inner may be cooled in a freezer for 15-30min. Please gently remove the outer pillowcase before heating or cooling. Lavender is the traditional material for the 26th wedding anniversary gift.
