‘Island Street’ is a transatlantic spiced gold rum crafted by Salcombe Distilling Company.
This product supports the RNLI, as part of our national partnership, we donate 10% of the net price of every bottle sold to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to help save lives at sea.
Crafted by blending a ‘single estate’ gold rum that is fermented, distilled and aged in Salcombe, together with hand sourced gold rums from Jamaica and the Dominican Republic along with a unique blend of spices.
Crafted by Salcombe Distilling Co. at their waterside distillery, one of the world’s only distilleries accessible by boat.
Drawing influence from the famous 19th century Salcombe Fruit Schooners and their precious cargo, ‘Island Street’ is inspired by the Salcombe Fruiters and intrepid sailors who risked all in pursuit of their cargoes of highly prized pineapples and exotic spices.
Tasting Notes:
There are sweet notes of soft brown sugar, rum baba cake, toasted coconut, spiced compote, and a hint of pineapple on the nose. Followed by flavours of gingerbread cake, mince pie mix, and warming vanilla with an underlying fresh pineapple on the palate. The finish is rich and lingering with flavours of pecan nuts and a subtle floral sweetness.
Best Served:
On its own over ice or with a premium ginger ale or beer and a slice of dehydrated pineapple or fresh lime to complement the rich and warming Caribbean spicing of ‘Island Street’.
