Beautiful, handmade, individual, functional ceramics.
Becky Mackenzie is a designer-maker working predominantly with porcelain and earthenware. Every piece is individually handmade to order, through a complex 11 stage process and then decorated as required using her own original illustrations.
Now based in the wilds of Northumberland, where she lives and works with her photographer husband and their 3 children, Becky graduated with a first class degree in Ceramics from Central Saint Martins and has an MA in Fine Art Conservation.
Recently she was number 13 on Country Life magazine's 2021 list of the 66 Best of British makers. She has also been shortlisted for the Jerwood Maker's prize and for Radio 4's' Journey of a Lifetime' award.
Contemporary British design for the wild at heart.
Becky's designs show their sophistication through their simplicity. She has designed exclusive tableware collections for Designers Guild and Mint, and her teacups have been featured in Ella Decoration, Living etc and Vogue. In the past year she has created work for The London Design Festival, The Great Exhibition of the North and the Bloom! Festival in York. This year her work has also been shown at Thrown Contemporary, Gallery 57 and Woburn Mosaic.

Every bowl is completely individual, often slightly irregular, with its own characteristics and always wonderfully unrepeatable! Each is made by hand and no two are identical…it takes a bit of time and care to produce each one so thank you for being patient. My production process is very small scale and as such there may be slight variations in tone and density of colour from bowl to bowl. This part and parcel of the handmade process. Thank you so much for buying them!
