Liz has been exploring the themes of consciousness, ritual and the cycles of life, death and rebirth in her new work.

The skull is here to remind us that death is part of life. All things in life go through this cycle.

The Celts used to place a skull of an ancestor on the table with a candle in to symbolise the warmth of life and light of vision. The watercolour in this illustration captures that lightness beautifully.
