Blockart Maps

Design led homeware using designs from ancient and old maps.

Based in the Scottish Borders, Blockart Maps is run by Kirsty Palmer.

Kirsty studied architecture, amongst other things, and has always been a creator. Kirsty fell into using old maps to create decorative hanging hearts, and these products were so successful that she began making other homeware items to compliment. Customers wanted more products featuring areas close to their favourite locations, and Blockart Maps was born.

Using very old and vintage ancient maps, Kirsty uses these images to create beautiful and unusual homeware. As the maps use traditional muted colours, the lamp shades, cushions and platter boards, cups, coasters and decorations all match well with modern and traditional homes.

Kirsty works from an old police cell, and you can see many of the product pictures have beautiful painted brick or tile backdrops. This is the old prison walls!

Everything sold by Blockart Maps is made and produced in the UK, with many items, such as the lamp shades, made by hand.
