This kitchen table business envisages bringing a fresh take on Scandinavian and New England textiles to your home.
Boiler House Designs emerged from the founder Lydia’s Mum Helen, who had a dream of turning her hobby into a career and brought this to life through her business which was established in 2006. Helen and Lydia were living in a quirky converted Edwardian hospital building, with round windows, arched windows and a towering 40ft brick chimney in the back garden, – an industrial looking building echoing the likes of the Peaky Blinders set. No. 1 The Boiler House is where Helen started creating her own textile designs. Nine years later Helen sadly passed away from a Brain Tumour but in 2019 Lydia decided to follow Helen’s dream and created Boiler House Designs.
This kitchen table business envisages bringing a fresh take on Scandinavian, New England and 1950’s textiles to your home (and your sofa). Made in Kings Heath, fabric from West Yorkshire and Digbeth, trims from Soho and ideas stemming from Birmingham’s botanical gardens, we truly are a very British brand.
Consciously creating timeless designs for your home
Our vision is to create cushions that still look fabulous from whichever way round you look, so you'll find that all of our cushions look equally splendid on the back as they do on the front - meaning however you scatter your cushions around the house it doesn't matter.
Boiler House Designs' entire range is designed, printed, sewn and photoed in the converted attic in our Edwardian terrace home, often with help from our model - Prince the Pug. We like to think of ourselves as eco-friendly as possible, using British materials and introducing as much recycled cotton as possible.
Ultimately, we are consciously creating timeless designs that we believe will stand the test of time, using sumptuous velvets and beautiful linens to make original soft furnishings for your home.
