A SMALL BUSINESS, RUN BY A YOUNG MAN FROM HIS FAMILY'S KITCHEN TABLE

Luke was able to complete his 'placement year' at University in 2014 with the help of his Father and The Hive Business Centre at Nottingham Trent University. During this time, he began to develop a range of hand-printed cotton handkerchiefs and more recently has been focussing on hand-stamped products hosting upcycled copper and tin, which have since become Bourneys' best sellers.

It all started when Timothy Blunt grew tired of seeing the same old plain or checked men's handkerchiefs.

With his love of vintage photographs, he considered them to be an ideal subject for fashion. From here, his son Luke, a product design student, took on the challenge to create and combine artwork with handkerchiefs. This resulted in a very unusual and unique range of cotton hankies and the start of Bourneys. While the hankies were on the shelf, Luke began to craft handstamped goods which are now Bourneys best-sellers. Luke also has a passion for upcycling and refurbishing furniture and household accessories, finding inspiration in preloved items.

All of the copper pieces made by Bourneys are upcycled from copper pipes, using an old hammering technique to imprint personalised and meaningful sayings. Luke has since included the use of upcycled tin which has since become Bourneys' best seller.

Bourneys take the best of British and apply it to everyday living, entwining nostalgic imagary with modern fashions.
