Handcrafted using recycled solid 9ct gold, these spiral snake earrings are perfect for all occasions.Inspiration for spiral snakes: When ammonites were first discovered on the North Yorkshire coast, the early settlers did not know what they were. Legend told that the nun, St Hild cast a spell and turned all the snakes into stone before throwing them off the edge of the cliff. Local artisans would carve snakes heads onto ammonites to sell as "proof" of her miracles. These were known as "Snakestones".
