Unique jewellery for individuals that appreciate an investment in the quality of design and artistry
Fascinated with otherworldly rock formations shaped over hundreds of years and the dramatic cliffs of the Drakensberg Mountains; my jewellery reflects the connection I feel to the South African landscapes I grew up in.
Road trips from the Gauteng Province to the Western Cape provided dramatically contrasting landscapes and inspired my curiosity in the architecture in nature.
I draw inspiration from the cracks and asymmetrical angles in these landscapes and design sculptural jewellery that reflects the scenes from the surface of where my metals where mined.
Handmade jewellery with an emphasis on Craftmanship
All of my jewellery is handmade in my studio on a Dutch Barge in East London.
Handmade jewellery is the outcome of a personal journey; it is the conclusion of hours and hours of errors and experimentation, times of frustration and pure joy.
I use an ancient Japanese technique called Keum Boo to fuse 24ct gold silver. This technique is accomplished by first depleting the surface of sterling silver to bring up a thin layer of fine silver. Then 24 carat gold foil is applied with heat and pressure—mechanical gilding—to produce a permanent diffusion bond.
