About Colourful Kat Signs

Open for commissions of fine quality hand-painted Signs and Reverse Glass Gold leaf typographic wall art, produced using traditional methods.

I am a traditional sign writer and gilder, with a strong design background in interior retail display and design. As well as ready made pieces to purchase, I offer bespoke commissions and personalisation.

All my designs are hand drawn, hand lettered and beautifully hand crafted using traditional sign-writing methods and gilding techniques at my workshop in Buckinghamshire.

My process involves creating a unique design, which is applied carefully onto a panel or the reverse of glass. I use enamel signwriting paints and genuine gold leaf as well as mother of pearl, abalone shell and glitter.

Your artwork will be framed in natural wood with backing, D-rings and twine, ready for display.

Traditional hand-painted signs and reverse glass gilding

I also produce traditionally hand lettered, hand-painted and gilded signs for the exterior, such as house signs, numbers, A-boards, menu boards, shop fronts and windows.

I will liaise with you to explore colour options, letter style, size and budget and then I will produce 3 sketch designs. I will refine the design of your choice and share this with you. Once an original design is agreed upon I will carefully produce and complete your bespoke sign.

Choosing a carefully hand-crafted sign will give your home or business a unique, individual and authentic character.

Delivery

Ready made orders will be promptly posted, usually within 1 business day.

For bespoke commissions and customisation, I need a maximum 4 weeks from payment until you receive your art work.

I will liaise with you during the design process to create the perfect artwork for your needs and keep you regularly informed on progress.

Tracking information is then shared as soon as your item is posted. Postage is usually by Royal Mail signed for and tracked or Parcelforce for larger items.

Completed bespoke commissions are non-refundable.
