Innovative textile products that use Emma's own photography.
Emma Burton’s printed clothes, scarves, handbags and purses are characterised by their kaleidoscope of colour and striking graphic imagery that is extracted directly from photographs that Emma takes herself.
Inspired by everything from retro plastic paraphernalia to nature Emma explores patterns, textures and colour within and around these themes.
Each product features a unique print that she creates by layering dissected imagery from the photographs into a new composition using CAD technology. The prints are digitally printed onto natural fabrics such as silk and viscose and are then made into her unique collection.
Emma graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2001 where she specialised in mixed media textiles after completing a fashion degree at Northumbria University. Her textile designs have been sold to top fashion companies around the world. She now lives and works in Whitstable, Kent.
The Emma Burton is stocked in independent boutiques, galleries, museums and also on the Orient Express trains.
