One of a series of three prints - Despair, Hope, Thrive
Despair / Hope / Thrive
I love abandoned old, abandoned railway lines, they hold so many memories about people’s journeys. The tree is symbolic of the past, present & future, they are among the longest-living life forms on Earth & I never tire of photographing them. They are as individual as we are. The three prints are linked with essentially the same tree in different stages of its life. The colours & details change to represent the feelings they evoke. The background is subtlety textured like old Linen, & the colours change with each of the tree prints:-
Despair – Dark & brooding Blues, Greys & Black with a gnarled & twisted dead tree. A tangle of thorny bushes surrounds it enhancing the sinister feel to this image.
Hope – The background colours range from Blue & Green hues through to Ochre & Rust with the tree in its skeletal winter state. The thorny bushes have been replaced with softer foliage.
Thrive – Bright Yellow and Ochre colours embrace the uplifting image of the tree adorned with leaves which I have represented with hundreds of tiny Butterflies. Tall elegant grasses blow in a gentle breeze.
Although the prints were designed as a series they work equally well on their own. This would make a perfect gift for anyone who loves nature or trees
Available as an A4 or A3 print, it will fit into any standard frame.
