The little memaid doll is simple to make and sew, and is very huggable, an ideal introduction to knitting simple texture.

To make your mermaid you will need: DK yarn in two colours (skin tone and whichever colour you like for the tail and hair), 3mm straight knitting needles, scraps of yarn for the mouth and eyes, darning needle and stuffing.
