Prints with Paper goods with Purpose
Hannah Turpin is the artist behind these illustrated botanical prints and designs. She works from her home studio in Brighton where she has honed and evolved this etching style illustration technique.
Hannahs inspiration comes from the natural world that surrounds her and the pages of old natural history books and botanical drawings.
Her creations often take weeks to create because of the amount of research that goes into a particular topic and the level of detail that is required for each piece.
Behind all of her designs lies a real passion for the environment, food, and sustainability. Her prints and stationery serve as not only functional pieces but also invite a touch of elegance, purpose, and awareness into people's everyday spaces.
Interesting fact: Hannah grew up on a mushroom farm in Kent!
The more you learn the more fascinating Nature becomes
I never set out to design prints in this way. It all began when I was commissioned to design something for someones wedding gift. It was only then that I thought, ah, there's something in this! I also love anything vintage and oldie worldie I wouldn't class myself as someone who would sit all day drawing lots of delicate and detailed drawings of vegetables but I do and actually I found it so good for me, it's kind of meditative!
