This vintage journal kit is perfect for book-lovers and writers, showing off its handmade credentials with unique themed pages and a decorative thread binding.
The old book pages, cream, brown and black papers are suitable for a scrapbook, collection of memorabilia, journal writing, poetry or drawing. The formal cover and subdued colours make it a good choice for a hard to buy for man.
The journal kit has been designed to help inspire and encourage creativity, rather than being faced with the usual blank white page.
The kit comes in a decorated gift box with a label that can be written with a greeting.
Variations
The vintage theme of this journal starts with the cover made from an original cloth backed map. Ten pages are selected for their vintage credentials, use them as decorative backgrounds to stick things on or simply as statement pages. The remaining twenty papers have been chosen to complement an aged look, by the colours, textures and patterns.
The benefits of the kit format are that the order of the pages can be chosen to suit and can be filled in before they are bound into the book so that mistakes can be discarded.
To give the journal a title choose a blank label to write yourself or it can be personalised with up to thirty letters using an old fashioned typewriter.

The book is A5 size, H21 x W15cm, a handy size to carry with you and fit into your bag.
The box the journal comes in is decorated and has a gift tag, it is protected in a plastic envelope and fits through a letter box aperture.
Made from
The book materials are paper and card. Many of the pages are re-used (book pages and wallpaper) or recycled (made from bought paper that has been collected and reprocessed).
This is what is in the box:
An instruction booklet, a front cover of a cloth backed map and a back cardboard cover, 10 vintage themed paper including original book pages, 20 plainer pages, 2 pegs for use as clamps, linen thread for binding, a self sticking name label and a wire coil to help collate the pages. Nothing else is required to make the journal.
The pages are collected, chosen, cut and punched by hand. The journals kits are made with love and care but their handmade nature means there may be small irregularities, and some of the reused paper may be crumpled, marked or have rough edges as a feature of the design. The contents of the kit will not be exactly the same as in the photographs as each one is unique.
