Inspired by Jan's love of vintage and traditional Alpine embroideries, this is the kind of piece that you might find in an old painted chest containing textiles, created as part of a wedding trousseau. It is lovingly appliquéd and hand stitched with a dainty trail of leaves and hearts within each scallop, and embroidered with a centrepiece of mountain flowers which bloom upon the slopes in spring time. The edges are blanket stitched with contrasting trhead.
