I LOVE candles. I ADORE nice fragrances. I BELIEVE in sustainability. I'm VERY ENTUSIASTIC about eco-friendly products and supporting earth-friendly companies.
My love of candles began at the age of 6 when we moved from Belfast to England. We stayed with my aunt who would wrap and label pillar candles for the local community.
I spent hours helping her then we would sit and shared stories with a glowing flame. The fondest memories.
I am a strong believer in wasting as little as possible in every way.
The combination of these 2 interests lead me to experiment with candle making in 2018.
After producing a soy wax, wood wick candle that I was thoroughly happy with, I began gifting them to family and friends. The feedback was more than I had ever expected and the excitement was overwhelming!
The passion had truly begun.
Sales of my candles followed soon after but I was determined to make my own candle pots.
I researched until I found the eco-friendly, UK based material that I use today.
This water based, non-toxic composite material is perfect.
I have since created a Pebble & Bowl Set which infuses, then diffuses, our essentials.
Malmo were flattered and honoured to be part of BBC Gift Guide.
The whole process of creating a product from scratch, perfecting it and then selling it is so very rewarding. The making part is joyful and relaxing. The finishing touches is where the excitement begins as this is nearing the end of the process and you have a unique hand-crafted item which you alone designed and created.
Positive feedback from customers is the additional enhancement to the whole enjoyable experience.
I feel extreme gratitude that this is my job.
A very proud moment was when we were invited by BBC to be part of their Gift Guide. This felt like an endorsement of Malmo products.
