Covetable and colourful hand-made sheep and homewares.
Mary Kilvert is a British designer-maker. Originally trained as an illustrator, she draws unique characters and scenes in her design studio, then brings them to life on a variety of homewares. Her range includes cushions, tea towels, trays, ceramics, wallpaper, stationery and accessories. Her fine art mounted prints are perfect for children’s bedrooms.
Mary launched her first major range, a Flock of Colourful Sheep at the Country Living Christmas Show in 2011. Featuring Baatholomew, a sheep who want to be different, so he knits himself a beautiful, multicoloured coat only to be copied by the rest of the flock! Further designs include a Pack of Proud Pooches, inspired by Bertie, her King Charles Spaniel and the dogs they have met on walks around her home town of Frome. Cradle of Crafty Cats features childhood pets Tigger and Max. Larry the Long Dog is a flamboyant dachshund who likes to dress up in various disguises! Her recent Swallows design is inspired by the swifts and swallows that circle in the skies above her studio.
Mary's influences are from an idyllic childhood spent in the beautiful, rural county of Herefordshire and her range continues to grow from her base in Somerset where she works from her studio above the Mary Kilvert shop which opened in 2013.
