Handmade Raku Vessel
This handmade raku vessel is decorated with a copper/turquoise glaze showing beautiful variegated colours. The vessel has a flat top decorated in a unique black bead glaze to emphasise the balance of the piece. This vessel is hand thrown on a wheel, fired once and then glazed.
Raku is an ancient ceramic process that involves plunging red hot glazed pots into sawdust. Smoke and flames from the combustion transforms the surface to give copper lustre, turquoise and aqua-green patterns resulting in each piece having a unique character.
Specific areas on the work are also glazed with a bespoke black bead glaze which gives additional texture and interest to the piece.
This item is a unique product and ONLY 1 is available.
