Welcome to Mindfulmess Art we create honest, colourful, ethical art and gifts, home grown from the human heart for you to express yourself!
Rose is a Surrey born artist, novice writer and qualified veterinary nurse. Her work is mostly inspired by the great beauty and challenges she sees of life combined with a fierce love of nature.
She immerses her life in nature, exploration, culture, music and love. Her greatest love of all is her friends, family and pets to whom sometimes she feels she owes her life, having suffered occasional periods of depression since 2007. Mindfulmess was born through experiencing plummeting lows and turning it all around.
'Mindfulmess is my own special source of therapy, much like the joy I get from gardening or caring for animals and people. I am able to disengage my over active mind and negative thoughts and lose myself in art and craft to benefit others and myself. Growing and recycling most ingredients used also gives me a tremendous boost!'
With weekly blogs adding context to my art you can join me on my creative process and see what inspires me.
The act of Mindfulness (the practice of) is about a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment.... When we practice mindfulness, our thoughts tune into what we're sensing in the present moment rather than rehashing the past.
Rose was inspired by this movement but felt she always lacked the attention span to practice it well due to her depression and so used this popular term to play on the words re-reading mind-full-of-mess. This is quite accurate for anyone who experiencing anxiety and depression to feel! It is black humour and the aim is about opening that beautiful mind and letting it all spill out on the page past, present or future.
