Coastal inspired Art Prints and Paper Goods

Hi I'm Krystal, Graphic Designer and founder of Paper Birch, a Wall Art & Paper Goods brand, based in Cornwall, UK. I specialise in cyanotype printing and it's defining blue tone has become the signature style for Paper Birch. Inspired by coastal living, I use the cyanotype technique to create imagery directly from nature, often using seaweed and plants from the surrounding coastline here in Cornwall.

Collections include striking blue nature art prints, yearly cyanotype calendars and 'ready to write' wedding invitations. All of my art prints are re-produced from original sun-printed cyanotypes and printed onto quality, textured papers.

Collecting subject material in Cornwall, UK

Inspired by coastal living

It's here, in Cornwall’s sub-tropical gardens and rugged, ever changing coastline, I find inspiration for my designs.

It could be delicate pieces of seaweed found floating on the shoreline, wild ferns growing in the hedgerows or flowers blooming in a tropical garden.

With the Cyanotype technique I capture each subject's natural form as well as creating a glimpse of the place it came from. These layered images then feed into my product designs, often forming lead images or interesting background imagery.

My Art prints and paper goods are printed onto recyclable, FSC certified papers, and the packaging I use is also kept to a minimum. Everything is designed and printed in the UK.
