All the products in this range are handmade by a small family business in Rajasthan, India.
We are fortunate enough to visit them every year, having worked with them for many years following Fair Trade guidelines.
The paper used in these albums is handmade using recycled cotton (also known as khadda, kaddi or khaddi) leftover from the massive garment industry in India. It is acid-free because we only use unbleached cotton and it produces a beautiful paper, easy to write, draw or paint on. We don't recommend using a fountain pen with this type of handmade paper.
Because the paper is acid-free it is perfect for protecting and preserving photographs. Photos can be added using photo corners, spray mount or just glue. Photograph corners can be found in any good photography shop or stationers.
The leather used is a by-product of the meat industry in India and is tanned using only natural dyes.
