The pattern and yarn to make this wonderful curved and cabled jacket is sent to you with gift bag, care instructions and alpaca story.
Using our comprehensive instructions and fabulous 100% pure, British alpaca yarn, Louisianna will be a joy to make. Structurally unusual, Louisianna will keep a confident knitter interested as the body of the jacket is made in one piece, including the cable edge and fringe; this means Louisianna will be a quick project to sew up.
Stitch patterns: knit, purl, stocking stitch, short row shaping with wrap & turn (WT) and cabling.
Five sizes available from X-Small to X-Large
Knitted on 5.5mm straight needles (although circular needles are recommended due to the number of stitches) (needles not included)
Variations
There are 10 natural colour options to choose from and all are made with 100% pure British Alpaca fibre (some from our own herd).
Available sizes are:
X-Small: UK sizes 4-6, to fit approx 73cm/29″ bust (9 balls of yarn)
Small: UK sizes 8-10, to fit approx 83cm/33″ bust (10 balls of yarn)
Medium: UK sizes 12-14, to fit approx 93cm/37″ bust (11 balls of yarn)
Large: UK sizes 16-18, to fit approx 102cm/40″ bust (12 balls of yarn)
X-Large: UK sizes 20-22, to fit approx 112cm/44″ bust (13 balls of yarn)
This kit's contents are:
1 x Louisianna Jacket Pattern,
9, 10, 11, 12 or 13 x 50g balls of yarn (depending on size)
1 x Postcard of Louisianna the alpaca (picture on one side and her story on the other)
1 x Care Instructions
1 x Recycled brown paper gift bag with rope handles.

Dimensions
Packed together in a clear plastic, resealable bag (useful for final garment storage) and posted in a blue mail bag (40cm x 28cm); the weight will depend on the size ordered as this has an incremental effect. Final posting weight ranges between 700g and 850g.
Made from
Purl Alpaca Designs' are exclusive to us and created by Co-Founder, Kari-Helene Rane; they are named after baby alpacas born to our herd or alpacas whose fleece makes our yarn for that year.
Our 100% pure alpaca yarn is not dyed, all the colours are completely natural and the fibre is sourced from English breeders who look after their animals well. It is spun in Cornwall by a specialist spinning mill.
Once made, we recommend hand-washing as the best way to ensure Louisianna keeps shape and lasts for years. We do however provide Care Instructions which gives extra tips on how to look after your Purl Alpaca Design.
