Mood enhancing scents to refresh your home.

Hi! I’m Maame, I grew up in Ghana and I'm a Financial Controller, hence the name Purscents. A blend of my profession and passion. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I started expressing myself through creativity to help lift my mood and lighten the monotony of staying indoors every day.  I tried painting and growing vegetables but I also found myself burning more candles than I ever did before.

In the summer of 2021, my husband and I went away one weekend where we had afternoon tea in a garden café. I was transported into a beautiful rural setting by all the scents that surrounded us: roses in bloom, fresh lavender and zesty lemongrass combined with calming chamomile and elderflower aromas.  I was inspired to re-create these wonderfully complex scents in our home to remind me of this moment. That's when the concept of our aromatherapy brand was born.

At Purscents, our idea is to craft fragrances deeply inspired by nature that will not just refresh your home but enhance your wellbeing too. I have a personal preference for woods, ferns, and citrus so that’s where most of my scents are drawn from.

As a mum of two and coming from a country that’s impacted by deforestation, I take ethical and environmental issues very seriously. All our components are either recycled, recyclable, reusable, or biodegradable.

Living a fast-paced life in London can be intense at times, and so embracing the bounty of mother nature helps us slow down at times as we navigate through the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. Studies have shown that aromatherapy products can aid relaxation, relieve stress, lift your mood, and promote better sleep, so what better way to unwind than by lighting a candle as you indulge in your favourite book, sink into a bubble bath, or simply just take a moment to yourself.
