Before starting RCC, Matthew spent 10 years designing bathrooms for a local company where he was made redundant in early 2013.

Following redundancy and Keen to expand and create his own brand, Matthew wanted to be able to make his own furniture. That spring, he went to Aldi and bought his first welder for £16 and decided to teach himself how to weld. He spent hours watching youtube videos and practising relentlessly, with only a few (hundred) minor burns in the process!

In summer 2013, Matthew decided to put his new-found skills to the test and build his first ever table. He created the standard square frame base, which is still available now and the most popular design in the range. Since that first table, Matthew and RCC have gone on to produce over 100,000 tables

Matthew has taken the company on such an expansion journey to accommodate their growth, now residing in a 20,000 sq foot premises in Sheffield employing over 40 full time of staff.

Delivery

Delivery Service:

All deliveries are a one man service as standard so assistant will be required, depending on the size of you item. If a 2-man delivery is needed or you any special requirements, it is you’re responsibly to in-form us before delivery.

Parcel delivery:

For smaller items like coffee tables we use a 48hr courier service which can be tracked. Companies like UPS, DPD, I-POST etc.

Once the item has been marked for dispatch we will forward you the tracking information. If for any reason you are not available when the delivery is attempted the delivery company will leave a card with instructions for the re-delivery.

We carefully bubble wrap each item but we do understand that sometimes damages can happen. In the event of damage occurring please contact us ASAP.

Pallet delivery:

Small to medium items will be sent via a pallet service. We carefully wrap each item and secure to the pallet safely.

We will call you to confirm a delivery date which suits you once palletised. Once the item has been marked for dispatch we will forward you the tracking information.

Assistance will be required to unload the item as it will be a kerbside delivery only so please make sure there is more than one able body person to assist.

Medium/ Large item delivery:

We have our own drivers and vans delivering nationwide.

Some areas such as Northern Scotland, Cornwall/ Devon and East Anglia can take longer.

When your order is complete our dispatch team will contact you with a prospective delivery date and approx. time. We attempt to give more than 48 hours’ notice and allow 1-2 hours either side of your time as this is traffic dependant.

Our items are delivered ready built so please make sure you have adequate access to your property. We strongly suggest measuring your choice of access to make sure the item will fit. On the vast major-ity of items the tops can be removed but the frames are welded solid. If there is an issue with access we have designed the tables so the tops can be unbolted with a 13mm socket or spanner.

We can offer a flat packing service if required at an additional cost.

Delivery will be to the front door of the property, unless agreed in advance. If for any reason the driver has to enter you home we are not liable for any damages caused to your property.

Generally the driver will be happy to assist getting the item into your home unless it proves a risk to their health & safety or your property. All deliveries are at the driver’s discretion.

Portrayal of products

While every effort has been made to portray items accurately, slight variations may occur. Wood colours can vary due to different screen variations and wood types.

All measurements quoted are approximate and the reproduction of colours is as accurate as photographic and publishing processes will allow.

Please note there may be variations in colours dependent on the calibration and settings of individual screens.

Delivery

(9a) Once your order balance has been paid in full and is ready for delivery you will be contacted by our courier company. They will inform you about the soonest delivery date to your area, and will book in a mutually convenient delivery date and time slot with you.

(9b) We will deliver your order to any UK Mainland only address.

(9c) Our delivery team will make every effort to deliver within the time slot provided. The delivery date and time slot is an estimate that is given in good faith. Should we find that the estimate is incorrect we will endeavour to inform you using the contact details that you have provided when placing the order.

(9d) You must ensure that access is suitable for the delivery of the goods in to your desired location. Cancellations of this sales agreement cannot be accepted on the basis that access to your desired location is not possible (eg. Doorway too small, unable to man-oeuvre furniture due to space restrictions, narrow loft access, unable to park van due to road inaccessibility. This list is not exhaustive.), subject to your general right of cancellation under the cancellation clause set out above.

(9e) Our standard delivery only covers delivery through a ground floor or basement entrance that has clear access to a front or back door entrance point large enough for your item; and go up to a first floor level (without any access restrictions within the staircase) if no elevator access is available. Any special delivery instructions must be noted at the point of purchase and any extra charges that may be incurred to ensure delivery into your property are to be paid by you, the customer.

(9f) Our furniture can be large and very heavy but it is the customers responsibly to make sure adequate access is required before delivery. If access is severely restricted a window delivery may be required, and in some cases a crane must be hired to be used to lift the furniture through a window. It is your responsibility to inform Rcc Furniture of any access restrictions so that we may advise you of any potential charges prior to the order being confirmed.

(9g) If we attempt to make delivery on the date and time slot that you have accepted and no one is present to accept delivery of the goods, you will incur a repeat delivery charge. This charge will be applied even if no original delivery cost was charged. This repeat delivery charge will also apply if you cancel an agreed delivery date and time slot less than 48 hours prior to the agreed date.

(9j) Time of delivery is not of the essence in this Agreement. We will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss of profits or other financial loss or damage suffered by you through any reasonable delay or delay due to unforeseen circumstances outside of the reasonable control of Rcc Furniture or delay due to any reasonable rescheduling of delivery.

(9k) In the event that you would like to have Goods delivered to a location outside of the UK Mainland we can deliver to any shipping company or port on the UK Mainland if you arrange for the onward shipping. It is your responsibility to check the condition of the Goods at the location where we deliver (this can either be you personally, a representative of the shipping company, a relative or an employee of yours). Liability for the Goods becomes yours when the Delivery Note is signed either by you or your agent.

(9l) All Products must be signed for on delivery by an adult aged 18 years or over unless otherwise agreed.

(10) Delivery, Faulty or Damaged Goods

(10a) Rcc Furniture are dedicated to your satisfaction. Should an incorrect item be delivered, or there is a fault with an item you have ordered then please contact Rcc Furniture immediately and we will ensure the issue is resolved. In the case that a replacement has to be ordered then the replacement will be delivered to the original delivery address and the original lead time may re-apply. Rcc Furniture will advise you further.

(10b) Cosmetic/Transit Damage:

Upon a standard delivery service at this point we request that you inspect the goods for any transit damage. If you find that there is any transit damage then this must be noted on the delivery Note and inform the driver. If, for any reason, the delivery team are unable to take photos then we may require you to take photos to send to us. If transit damage was not noted at the point of delivery then you will have to report any transit damage to Rcc Furniture within 24 hours of receiving the delivery.

Claims for transit damage will not be accepted outside of this time period. We will also request photographs of any visible damage to be provided to Rcc Furniture.

(10c) We do not accept claims for cosmetic/transit damage caused once the goods are outside of the notice periods laid out in points 10a & 10b above, and once the goods are outside of Rcc Furniture control.

Liability disclaimer

Rcc Furniture’s total liability for any claim howsoever shall not exceed the price of the goods supplied by Rcc Furniture to the customer. Rcc Furniture shall not be liable for any consequential loss whether this arises from a breach of duty in contract or in any other way, save where such liability is imposed upon Rcc Furniture by statute. Rcc Furniture cannot accept any liability for a failure to comply with instructions specifically stated on the Website or in the catalogue. Rcc Furniture does not limit in any way our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct. Your statutory rights are not affected
