Fill your home with BRIGHT WONDERFUL THINGS
I make whimsical slab built ceramics, which are hand painted and embellished with gold.
Making my ceramics through a slab building technique enables me to create unusual and organic shapes with clay. I am inspired by the idea that functional items don't have to be ordinary, and intends for her ceramics to be used everyday and not just to be decorative, but functional too. They are all food safe and waterproof.
I graduated at University of the Arts London, in Surface Design in 2015. After my degree I moved back home to Bristol, setting up my own ceramics studio called Wood Studio after meeting a retired potter who wanted to sell their equipment. Over the years it's been a ceramic studio to many other ceramic friends, but after I went full time last year it is just a private studio for me and her assistant, Naomi. If you're from Bristol, pop by and say hello!
Good things happen to those who wait..
Making ceramics is a timely process, each of my ceramics is fired in the kiln three times, the whole turnaround can take up to 3 weeks. Making ceramics has forced me to become very patient! Many potters use a pottery wheel to create their ceramics but I use a hand building technique to create more unusual and organic shapes.
Please note if you choose for your ceramics to be personalised there is a 3 week lead time as I make your ceramics from scratch.
If any of your items unfortunately arrive broken in the post, I will replace and send another for free.
