Saporista want to take your tastebuds on holiday! Our team of local food scouts search out authentic, high quality Mediterranean food & drink from small, artisan producers. We theme our selections to create foodie treats and gifts that will impress and delight. Everything in our range is really simple to store and use, making it easy to enjoy the taste of the Med in your own home. Look out for our limited edition selections that include an online experience that will bring the delicious contents to life.

Our name, Saporista, comes from the Italian word 'sapore' meaning 'taste' or 'flavour'. Co-founder Sam's grandmother was Italian, and his family experiences of Italian style meal occasions inspired in him a passion not just for Italian cuisine, but for high quality ingredients and different cooking traditions across Europe. He often wondered why fabulous artisan food from the Mediterranean is so hard to find when we're not on holiday, and so Sam and his wife Liz started Saporista in early 2020 to make it easier for people to enjoy delicious and traditional Mediterranean food. Saporista's third co-founder Lucy is a boutique travel business owner based in Barcelona, with years of experience of touring Europe and teaching and writing about European culture and history.

All our suppliers are small-scale, local family-run businesses, using local ingredients and traditional methods. The selections are carefully packed in recyclable card boxes with eco-friendly padding, or you can upgrade to an elegant Dorset-made re-usable gift box (made from recycled materials). So you can be sure that your gift is not only a real treat, but also has sustainability credentials.
