Cute and colourful dog illustrations, pawfect for dog lovers!

Sketchy Hounds was created in 2020 during the first UK lockdown, when I wanted to change direction with my illustrations. My husband suggested I should draw our beloved dog called Denzel (A Lurcher x Springer Spaniel) and I was instantly hooked on illustrating dogs!

In 2008 I graduated from Falmouth University with a degree in Graphic Design, since graduating I have worked for myself designing and illustrating for lots of different businesses. However, since graduating I found I was getting involved with lots more illustrative projects, so drawing dogs has been a natural progression.

A lot of my work is based on creating cute and colourful dogs that make someone smile. I am particularly fond of drawing dogs with pointy noses such as Lurchers, Whippets and Greyhounds as I find them so cute to draw. However I am expanding my ranges to include other delightful dogs too.

Pawsome original designs

My process starts with drawing my illustrations using pen and pencil, before I draw them digitally using my trusted graphic tablet.

I design all my illustrations in my little garden studio (usually with Denzel snoozing under my table as I work), and all my products are printed in the UK, using eco friendly products as much as I can.

When I'm not drawing dogs I am working on other illustrative products for my clients, and I'm about to start a Masters degree in Illustration too. (I'm just a bit obsessed with illustration haha)
