Songs of Ink and Steel is a luxury jewellery and accessories company specialising in high quality products, beautifully personalised to create treasured bespoke gifts.
We are a small family-owned business - just a silversmith and an engraver - but we pour our heart and soul into every piece of jewellery we create together. Everything is made by hand here by us to order, so not only has it got that personal touch, but we can also usually tweak things to be just how you imagine them.
We are always happy to discuss changes to designs, be it changing one stone for another or changing the size or even the finish! Nothing is too much trouble and we always seek to achieve 100% customer satisfaction so are always on hand to answer any questions you have quickly and easily, so do email us for a chat about your requirements. As all our pieces are handmade, the time taken to dispatch varies. You will find this information on this page, at the checkout and on your confirmation email. Postage upgrades do not change the time that it takes to make your piece, only the speed we ask the postal service to deliver to you. If you need your item sooner than shown, please do get in touch to see if we can help.
Our standard delivery service is free and orders are sent using Royal Mail Tracked48. The delivery time guide is 2 working days, you will receive your orders tracking number on your dispatch email. This is estimated and not a guaranteed delivery timescale. For a guaranteed delivery – please upgrade to Special Delivery/Express postage at the checkout.
Express Service - is via Royal Mail Special Delivery and is a signed for fully tracked service.
Worldwide Delivery - is via Royal Mail and is a tracked service taking 10-15 days on average depending on the destination country.
When ordering to a country outside of the UK, your items may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied when the delivery reaches the specified destination. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please note that we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.
During busy periods, published delays and/or periods of industrial action you may wish to consider upgrading your shipping at the checkout. Although we are not responsible for delivery carrier delays, if your item has not been received within 10 working days (mainland UK) or 25 working days (international), please do let us know and we will be happy to send a replacement for you at no extra cost.

All our pieces that are of the correct weight are fully hallmarked with the London Goldsmiths Assay Office so you can always be sure of the highest possible quality when buying from us.
The hallmark of a UK Assay Office is proof that an item (in all its parts) is of the standard of fineness indicated by the hallmark struck on that item and can be independently verified by any qualified metalsmith or jeweller. Please be aware that a 925 stamp is not a hallmark or guarantee of metal fineness, and this should not be confused with an assay office hallmark.
WHAT IS YOUR RETURNS POLICY?
We offer a refund or exchange within 14 days of purchase on all unpersonalised items, as long as it is in its original packaging and condition. If a personalised item is unsuitable we will happily work with you to try and resolve the problem by modifying the item.
A custom order is any order that is commissioned, modified, personalised, customised, or manufactured in accordance with your specific requirements. This includes (but is not limited to):
* Any item that includes any engraving - including those separate from the main item (such as pendants or bracelets with added discs).
* Any item that includes any details left in the personalisation box - including those separate from the main item (such as card inserts).
* Any piece that has the finish changed - including the addition or removal of oxidation and/or metal plating not offered as standard on the drop-down choices.
* Any piece of non-standard size that cannot be selected in our drop-down choices.
* Any piece that has been specifically designed in direct collaboration with you, the customer.
These items are excluded from returns or exchanges as per The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 unless faulty. This law applies to all countries that we sell to.
We cannot accept refunds or exchanges on earrings for hygiene reasons.
We offer a years guarantee on all our products. The guarantee lapses in the event of incorrect use, third-party repairs and careless handling and the warranty does not cover wear-and-tear, wear parts such as silk, leather or waxed cotton. Please note the special care instructions issued with your purchase.
