Handmade Large Starry Winter Mug

Life is short - make the act of tea drinking a special one.

Beautiful handmade mug with a beautiful Winters/Christmas scene with bluey/ green skies with hints of greens which remind me of the stunning northern lights, with 24 carat gold lustre detailing to the starry night sky. Each of my items are lovingly made by hand in my West Cornwall studio. No two items are the same as handmade and due to the magic of the kiln! So each mug will be unique and glaze will differ slightly from any photo.

Our studio has solar power; uses harvested rainwater, recycles clay and uses eco packaging.

The glazes are the result of much experimentation to create dramatic landscape scenes. You will receive a mug from this series. As they are handmade and hand painted no mug is the same, each one is unique in its own way, and much is down to the magic of the firing. The mugs are formed by rolling the clay with a rolling pin, cutting and forming slabs of clay that are then formed and folded into a mugs. These mugs always slightly wonky as the pricess is purely by hand and not in a machine or factory. I feel this look connects you to the maker and the process.

Due to the gold lustre this mug is not suitable for use in a microwave.

These are imperfectly perfect, and not for someone who is looking for precision. They connect you to the maker and the process and will be a prefect unique gift or treat to yourself.

Process of making the mug - from wedging and rolling the clay, building, trimming, a week drying, bisque firing, sanding, glazing and glaze firing and gold firing - the ceramic process takes 3 weeks approx. Your mug will be lovingly wrapped and send on its way by Royal Mail.
