Stabo began from a market stall in Portobello Road, London. Since those early days the business has grown, responding to changes in our own lives and the way we all live. We now have three children and people carry computers around in their pockets and on their wrists. The world feels like a very different place.
Our focus is on accessories and clothing but we're always pushing the boundaries, develop new ideas and experimenting with different techniques and materials. Screen printing and leather work are the mainstays of our product range.
We are always looking for the joy in the products we create which also reflect how we live; from coffee cup holders for cyclists, to personalised slippers to our beautiful welsh throws with a decorative patch for your special message to the recipient.
A passion for British Design and Craft
Our work has the imperfections and charm of the handmade. Stabo products are made with care and individuality rather than the uniformity of a factory. Screen printing and leather work are mainstays of what we do.
We screen print using our own handmade wooden screens and have an ever expanding collection of tools and machines for our leather work. We have chosen beautifully soft organic cotton for our T shirts and although they are made internationally all the designs are screen printed to order in our Cambridgeshire workshop.
We make our products in small runs to avoid waste.
The benchmark for us is developing products we love and want to use ourselves.
We are a small team of designer/makers we check our orders on a daily basis but fulfil orders on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and try to send all items out as quickly as possible. Express orders are processed on a daily basis. Other orders are processed on Monday, Wednesday or Friday but as everything is made here if we are out of stock it may take a few days more before it goes out. At peak times such as mid November to Christmas over 90% of orders go out within 24 hours of being placed (Friday and weekend orders go out on Monday).
If we have an issue with an order we will try to get in contact with you as soon as possible so please if you receive a message from Notonthehighstreet.com check and see what it says in case it's a query about your order.
Items go out with Royal Mail so if they do not turn up in a reasonable period of time please get in touch.
During the holiday period things may take slightly also it may not be possible for us to check on orders on a daily basis
International orders are sent out by Royal Mail once we have taken them to the Post Office we have no control over how long they will take to arrive even though they go out by Air Mail. Royal Mail advise that items can take up to 4 weeks to arrive so we will not be able to refund a lost international order until this time period has elapsed. Many issues can arise with items going around the globe including customs hold ups and even European items can get horribly delayed.
