Learn hand embroidery skills while embroidering and making a lavender bag. This sewing craft workshop is a lovely experience for friends, mothers, daughters and granddaughters.
Art and craft is a wonderful way to switch off from modern life, relax and discover a new skill. In this workshop, you will learn decorative hand embroidery while making a special keepsake lavender bag to take home or give as a gift.
We will first embroider the felt square with a lavender design using a back stitch alongside detached chain stitch embellishment. Next we'll start to sew the felt together with a classic blanket stitch before filling with organic dried lavender and sealing the bag.
The embroidery class is ideal for crafters of all levels, however some embroidery experience may help. Stephie, an expert in hand embroidery, will be on hand for anyone who needs a little help. We'll aim to fully complete the bag during the class, however in case this isn't possible, all materials (including a bag of dried lavender), tools and instructions will be provided for you to complete at your own pace.
StephieAnn's stitch experience makes a lovely gift for birthdays, activities for friends, mum's and daughters for Mother's Day, those on holiday in Brighton and hen parties.

LOCATION - StephieAnn's creative studio in Hove, 20 minutes from central Brighton, 10 minutes walk from the beach. The closest station is Aldrington. Unfortunately there are some steps and the studio is not easily accessible for wheelchairs.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW - The workshop is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, but may overrun by 30 minutes depending on experience levels. All materials and tools will be provided. You will take home your finished lavender bag on the day. If any embroidery isn't completed, instructions and extra thread can be provided for you to take home and finish at your own pace.Tea, coffee and soft drink refreshments will be provided. There are lots of lovely cafes, restaurants, pubs and bars within walking distance. Lunch can be provided or pre-ordered in collaboration with a local cafe.

HOW TO BOOK: A digital e-voucher will be sent to your Not On The High Street account 24-48 hours after the order has been placed. This will give you instructions on how to book. You will need to create a NOTHS account at checkout if you do not have one to receive an e-voucher which will be attached to your order enquiry. The workshop takes place weekdays and weekends. When ready to book, get in touch via the email on the voucher with your preferred date and time. If this isn't available, alternative options will be suggested. Depending on group numbers, you may have a private workshop or join one of our scheduled classes. Workshops don't run between November to mid-January.
