Taylor Black is headed by designer maker Philippa Taylor who gained her qualifications in jewellery in London's historic jewellery quarter, Hatton garden. Her jewellery is very British in style - classic but with a contemporary edge, enduring and very wearable.

Her jewellery is characterised by an English sensibility and able to transcend trends. Key sources of inspriration are bygone eras and in particular art deco. Her interest in fragrance and Victorian trinkets also led to the perfume locket range.

The brand was established in London in 2006. Philippa has also spent some time living in Asia where colonial influences and gems in particular were explored.

'My passion for jewellery extends far back into my childhood, I drove my parents mad looking at rings on holiday. now what defines my interest in jewellery is its ability to endure and its quality for tranforming materials into cherished possessions. I’m an enthusiast for many types of design though and not just jewellery.'
