Guided by an expert forager, unlock ancient herbal wisdom and explore the city's edible bounty through touch, taste, and scent - a unique outdoor adventure.
In this hands-on foraging experience, our experts will teach you improvisational first-aid remedies like plasters, nettle sting cures, antiseptics, poultices, and cough cures, while exploring nutrition, herbalism, and edible plants.
WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?
This is a morning of touching, rubbing, chewing and sniffing. This is a very useful walk if you enjoy spending your time out of doors. You are about to learn how to improvise plasters, an instant cure for nettle stings (and no, it’s not dock leaves), how to prepare an antiseptic, make a poultice and cure a cough, and that’s just for starters.
This is a wild foraging walk, but leaning towards which plants can specifically be used for first aid. There will be a few tasters as you walk along, made from wild ingredients picked and prepared earlier.
John Rensten is the founder of Forage London, a man committed to exploring our edible city. He has spent 25 years studying the history and the modern use of wild plants. John will equip you with the practical and safe knowledge, gleaned through first hand experience. Expect to cover numerous topics including nutrition, medicine, herbalism and cookery….. And you thought it was all about weeds…..
