This spun cotton ornament is inspired by a vintage technique for making Christmas decorations which were produced in Germany around the turn of the century in 1900. When I bought one from an early morning visit to Sunbury Antiques fair I was so inspired that I just had to have a go and make them for myself.
Individually hand made and by me in my garden studio. I adore the making and designing process and carry this out with love and attention to detail.
This Christmas tree Angel/tree topper girl can be hung on the tree or she can just be placed in a branch. If you are using her in an alternative way such as a table decoration, she will need to be balanced in such a way to stand up on her own or leant against something. She is not freestanding.
This individual piece is made from Spun Cotton Roving. a glass beaded heart body.made from crushed velvet The rest of her is embellished with recycled vintage lace,vintage diamante. faux pearls, glass beads and a printed paper face.
