We love sustainably sourced materials.....so much so we have partnered with the amazing Greenspark charity where we plant a tree for every order.
The Rustic Dish® started, originally, as a food blog where we shared a love for rustic cooking and recipes and really wanted to sell beautiful handcrafted rustic products that reflected on that part of our lives. We quickly agreed that olive wood is one of the worlds most beautiful woods and that was that and here we are..........after highjacking the blog name.
We now produce a beautiful range of cutting and serving boards and kitchen accessories, all carved from a single piece of sustainably sourced olive wood. We have been expanding our range into other home and giftware, whilst keeping within our handcrafted and sustainability vision, and continue to carefully source and promote artisanal handmade products from around the world.
All our items are designed in-house and made for us by artisans from Africa, India, Nepal & Italy. We source our olive wood from olive farms, who would normally discard their old trees, and have come to the end of their natural fruiting life.

Planting a tree for every item ordered!
Sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do here at The Rustic Dish, so we are incredibly excited and proud to announce our partnership with the amazing Eden Reforestation Project, a charity that plants tens of millions of trees every year in some of the most deforested and poverty stricken regions of our planet. Not only is our olive wood sustainably sourced but we now commit to donating the cost of planting a new tree for every item we sell, even a butter knife! We can make thousands of butter knives from just one olive tree, but placing an order just for one of these will result in a tree being planted in a deforested area of the planet.
Our target for the next 12 months is to plant 100,000 trees. This is not a pledge but a direct financial donation by The Rustic Dish to the Eden Project.
