A stunning solid oak sign post for your home.
This traditional looking engraved oak house sign is incredibly solid and built to last. A sign plaque and post are put together using traditional joinery techniques, what is known in the trade as a mortise and tenon joint.
There are two different sized sign plaques available to order. Small and Large, the small for your house name on 1 line and the large for lettering over 2 lines. The sign plaques come with your carved house name included in the price, or you can choose to have your carved house name on both sides of the sign plaque.
When meauring for this post sign, you need 50cm in the ground, we would recommend you use concrete, leaving you 1.5 meters out of the ground. If you would like us to make any adjustments for you just let us know when you place your order.
We would like to stress, these are made from Air Dried Oak and not Green Oak. The reason why this is so important is because green oak is cut straight from the tree soon after it is felled and has not been dried in any way. This will over time dry out even in out door conditions and will move, split and crack as it dries and becomes accustomed to its surroundings.
‘Air Dried’ oak is as it states. It has been left to dry out over a long period of time – for several years and has acclimatised and settled into its surroundings. This means any movement or splitting has already occurred and can be removed leaving a flawless finish. This also means you can pretty much rely on the fact, as much as you can with a natural product like wood, that your beautiful wooden house sign post will not change significantly once you have placed it in the ground. Your sign post is already perfectly accustomed to outdoor conditions.
