We made this for one of the team who is obsessed with Saturday Morning Kitchen and loved the style of chopping boards they used on the show. The timber is locally sourced in the UK and hand selected by us to get the best cut from the huge sawn tree boards and finished so you have a smooth cutting board which you will be proud of for many years to come.
Concerning Bark:
Our Live Edge chopping boards will feature no bark along the live edge, just simply the natural edge with the bark removed. For two reasons, firstly because the bark is were insects and worms live, so best it is not included in with a kitchen preparation board. The other reason is that once the timber has been thoroughly dried in a kiln, the bark tends to fall off, if not during this process then later on once you begin using and washing the board. Due to using this specific part fo the tree, there will be signs of natural activity of woodworm and holes which add to the live edge beauty and uniqueness. (Please note there will be no living woodworm in the board)

All engravings are in capitals. For lower case lettering, this can be requested at time of order. Please add this to the note section at checkout or you can contact us via email or phone. All sizes are approximate, especially as these are one piece boards. The depth can be anywhere between the two dimension stated due to the irregular shape of the live edge.
AJUSTABLE RUBBER FEET:
Another fantastic feature of our bespoke live edge chopping boards is our adjustable rubber feet fitted to the underside of the board. Natural wooden chopping boards will move ever so slightly from time to time, over time. This can mean your wooden chopping board can rock on your kitchen work surface. No doubt you would have experience this. However, with our boards, in all four corners we have fitted rubber feet that adjust by simply turning the feet, allowing them to rise and fall, making sure your live edge chopping board is stable at all times.
Choose your size:
Choose from 2 huge depths. Both boards are enormus so it is worth measruing your kitchen worktop space before ordering. The sizes have a tolerance of 10cm, this is because the natural live edge is not stright and will vary from one side to the other, it will also vary in angle. We aim to get the boards somewhere in-between the two dimensions. 35cm deep for the Standard Board and 45cm for the X-Deep board.
Choose your Timber:
These stunning James Martin Style chopping boards are available in 3 different timber options. Locally sourced English Sycamore, one of our native trees. A beautiful light blonde timber which is extremely hard and durable. English Chestnut, a classic timber with a stunning elegant grain. And of course, English Oak, a hardwood that needs no introduction. This timber has a light blonde live edge with a classic honey coloured grain.
Personalisation:
The choice is yours you can have it blank as standard or personalise the edge and with the length of the board you can get up to 40 characters on the edge of the board and with it be 7cm in height the letters really stand out with deep engraving, please note we engrave in capitals unless you ask otherwise.
