This is our luxury personalised wooden chess boards which are all handmade in the UK from beautiful timbers.
The main chess board is made from 3.5cm thick Solid English Oak which we then rout away the internal area ready for the assembling of the chess squares. This ensures high strength and stability making our chess board very solid and durable and quite unlike anything else on the market. This also means less chance of cracking or movement from the board.
The indivdual chess squares are made from solid Walnut and Maple. These timbers are considered very desirable for fine chess board making.
We then sand and finished each board by hand and finshed using water resistant oil. The finish is quite exquisite.
When it comes to good quality wooden chess boards, these are in a class of their own. We spend a great deal of time and care cutting and assembling each wooden square to create these magnificent quality chess boards to be enjoyed for many years to come. Family heirlooms in fact.
