Welcome to Tuppenny House Designs, a creative studio based in the heart of the Essex countryside, making handmade and unique gifts to treasure forever.
Tuppenny House Designs is a small business, run by me - Isobel - and my husband, Jeff. I have had many years experience in the fashion and textile industry before we started Tuppenny House Designs in 2002. We wanted to design beautiful, textile gifts with a modern perspective, that would create a 'wow factor' for all occasions.
We have a love of traditional childrens books and toys, that has inspired our collections over the years. Combined with a passion for prints, colours and textures, this has given us a distinctive style that shines through into our designs.
Each item is handmade by us, with care and patience to make them extra special. Using fine quality cottons and linens, we create truly unique gifts that will be treasured forever.

We offer free delivery for most of our items.
All of our products are handmade to order and we aim to dispatch your gifts within 7-10 days. Delivery is usually by a Royal Mail tracked service which normally takes between 1-3 days from the date of dispatch. If a signature is required, for example for express delivery, it is the customer's responsibility to be available for delivery or to make an alternative arrangement to ensure successful receipt of the order. The inability of Royal Mail or the courier to deliver the order because of the absence of the recipient does not constitute non-delivery or a failure on our part to fulfill the contract.
Please note that all delivery times are estimates and we accept your order on this basis. We will do our very best to meet deadlines, for example, presents for birthdays or christenings etc. and in these situations, or for general peace of mind, we recommend selecting the "Express Next Day Delivery" option for delivery the next day working day after dispatch. We do not offer refunds for late delivery unless previously agreed.
At busier times, such as Christmas, we may take a little longer to make your order. If you need your order for a specific date, please let us know and we shall do our best to get it you on time.
Undelivered or uncollected packages returned to us will be subject to an additional charge for re-delivery. Orders dispatched to a third party may have the return address of the purchaser included on the package.
It is worth bearing in mind that Royal Mail will not consider a package lost or delayed (and compensation payable) until 3 weeks have elapsed from the date of dispatch.
