Flat packed and pop up! Beautifully decorated pen holder made of Japanese paper. Ideal gift to send in a letter pack.
One. The holder comes flat.
Two. Fold out the cylinder and put the hexagonal base in it.
Three. Done! The cord on the base keeps the hexagonal base in place.
These pop up holders are decorated with Japanese stencil-dyed paper. It is handmade and hand dyed.
Stencil dyeing had been widely used for dyeing kimono fabrics in Japan. It is a time-honoured technique that manages the most elaborate design by dyeing only.
Most of these design patterns are created in this 100 years and the maker holds the rights.
As the paper is not bleached, the colours look sober and gives a reminiscence of old folk toys. Sold separately. Price is for single item only.
