Product description

Magically handwoven in Mulberry Silk. These shawls are created by the skilled hands of women artisans. They are the perfect thoughtful gift!

Super soft and easy to wear, these shawls are ethically hand woven by women artisans.

Their production provides regular employment for women who live in the poorest of households. Often being the sole wage earner, the women are enabled to provide food, clothing and education for their children and family, whilst working in a free and safe environment. They are paid fair wages and are treated with dignity and respect.

Each shawl bears the weaver's name and comes with a small "story" card.

    Dimensions

    65cm x 200cm. Sizes may vary slightly due to the hand woven nature of these shawls. Minor irregularities are a wonderful feature of a hand woven shawl, and we think this is what makes them special... and unique!

    Made from

    75% Mulberry Silk; 25% Khadi Cotton. This mix is used to give both a wonderfully easy to wear texture to the fabric and the strength to make this a scarf to wear all the time and not just for special occasions.

    Hand wash in cool water with gentle non-biological liquid (baby shampoo is a great alternative!). Do not spin. Line dry in shade and iron only if necessary.

    Note: All our pieces have been carefully quarantined by us before dispatch to you.

    You might like to know that Khadi Cotton is a hand spun and hand woven cotton, made famous by Ghandi. It retains all the wonderfull properties of cotton lost in mass factory production.
