Beautiful, reusable and eco-friendly, our organic Crossweave cotton gift bags are perfect for wrapping smaller gifts.
Made from sustainable organic woven fabric, these little bags work beautifully for gifts such as jewellery or soap. The bag can be passed on as part of the gift and either reused for gifting or repurposed. We use them for storing anything and everything, from safety pins and buttons to earrings and dice.
Each bag is held firmly closed with an organic cotton drawstring cord and a gold or silver finish cord stop.
The bags come in two different sizes. They can be teamed with the organic Crossweave wraps for a co-ordinated look.
Variations
Our organic Crossweave gift bags come in a range of choices -
SUNSET PEACH - medium weight organic cotton woven from orange and off white yarns. The colour combination creates a creamy peach effect that is both fresh and luscious. Comes with a gold effect metal cord stop.
MORNING DAWN - medium weight organic cotton woven from dark orange and blue yarns. This creates a beautiful iridescent purple sheen with flecks of orange that work well for Christmas, Eid or Diwali gifts. Comes with a gold effect metal cord stop.
EVENING STAR - medium to heavy weight organic cotton, woven from dark blue and white yarns to create an effect reminiscent of denim. Works well for the ‘dressed down’ or ‘smart casual’ gift. Comes with a silver effect metal cord stop (please note - contains nickel).
PURPLE STRATA - light to medium weight organic cotton, woven from yarn in shades of blue and purple to create a beautiful striped effect. Comes with a silver effect metal cord stop (please note - contains nickel).
WOVEN MIST - medium weight organic cotton, woven from grey and purple yarn to create an effect that is both subtle and complex. Comes with a gold effect metal cord stop.

As these products are handmade, there may be a small variation in sizing.

The fabric for the organic Crossweave gift bags has been carefully sourced with both the environment and worker welfare in mind. We choose certified and traceable organic cotton whenever we work with new fabrics because it is one of the most sustainable options available.
The cotton fabric for our organic Crossweave gift bags is supplied by the Organic Textile Company, who have a personal relationship with their supplier in Kerala. Together they ensure that the fabric is fairly traded as well as organic.
The weavers in Kerala hand dye the cotton yarn using low impact dyes, before weaving it on small powerlooms. Crossweave fabric uses different coloured yarns for the warp and the weft, to create an effect that is subtle, complex and high quality. As with any handwoven fabric, there may be small imperfections, but this very much adds to its charm.
We sew the Crossweave gift bags with responsibly sourced organic cotton thread and use Peruvian organic cotton braid for the drawstring. This ensures that the fabric composition of the bags is 100% organic cotton, apart from the cord stop which is metal.
All our packaging is plastic free and the bag tags are made from 100% recycled Kraft card. We send out parcels in 100% recycled card sleeves or boxes and only use eco-friendly paper tape. If a parcel needs padding, we use fabric offcuts or paper from parcels we ourselves have received.
Please note: we pre-wash all crossweave fabrics using eco-friendly cycles and detergent. If you do need to launder a gift bag, you may notice some slight further shrinkage. We recommend handwashing, air drying and ironing on a cotton setting. Avoid machine washing as the metal cord stop may damage the machine drum.
